Spring Break 2010
My younger daughter hates it when something gets on her finger, clothes or shoes even if it’s something pretty like a flower petal. She’s complaining that a cherry blossom petal is stuck on her shoe.
She can’t get over it and is still complaining.
A week-long spring break is almost over. We stayed in our city, but there was no other place I wanted to be other than Washington, D.C. during the cherry blossom season. It has been nice to relax in the morning without rushing out of our door to take my older daughter to her preschool. I planned a play date every single day. My girls loved it and were well entertained by their friends.
I went to Tidal Basin again in the morning. I just can’t get enough of cherry blossoms here!! I drove by and took some pictures along the Potomac River before we headed to a play date.
I drove to my friend’s house for a play date. She has a daughter who is the same age as my older one. She had those Japanese candies on display. I couldn’t resist taking their pictures.
EAST POTOMAC PARK & OHIO DRIVE

The cherry blossoms along Ohio Dr. SW.
View of the Reagan National Airport from the west side of the peninsula.
The side facing Virginia (left side on the map)
The Ohio Dr. on the west side of Tidal Basin. Needless to say, the parking area here was popular with early risers that early in the morning (at least to me).
Schools will resumes in this area from next week, but hopefully we’ll still be able to enjoy the short spring season in this part of the country for a while…
