sandals: Impo (purchased at Marshalls)
This is what I do almost everyday.
I go to a busy street and grab a cab.
We don’t have a vehicle yet. I find it very difficult to find a good quality used car with the right price in this city. I am thinking we should go buy a new car soon, but I just started to get comfortable using a taxi after being here for 2 months as I have learned the roads and locations and I can communicate with taxi drivers since I have learned some Bahasa Indonesian.
However, I sometimes wish I had a car on a hard day like this.
These photos above were taken before my munchkin and I headed to Grand Lucky, a grocery store in Jakarta where many expats shop. I bought a ton of groceries and a mop. Usually there are taxis waiting in line at the parking lot, but there was none that day and it looked like there wasn’t going to be any coming. I was in a hurry so I decided to walk to the main street to catch one while carrying 4 Whole Foods eco bags packed full of groceries as heavy as probably 20 kg. I had four large bags hanging over me AND a mop to top it off. What a day to buy a mop! I felt like a looser. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining. It was hot and I was sweating. Poor daughter of mine was trotting behind me trying to catch up like a chihuahua.
It could be worse. Having inconvenience is part of getting acclimated to the life overseas. I realize that having a car is such a luxury.
Did I hear someone chuckle?
I vacillated whether I should disclose the maker of the shirt or not. This is what I read on suite101.com about “Miley Cyrus Clothing Line”. “Miley Cyrus and Max Azria have introduced an affordable “rock” style clothing line to appeal to tween fans of the superstar.” Wait a minute, did I just read “tween”? I was 17 when she was born. I’m ancient to her! When I saw the shirt, I liked it and grabbed it, but when I saw the brand name, I had to think about it. For like 10 seconds. (I know, hard decision, right?) I thought I couldn’t help buying it because it had a great price sold at a factory outlet in Jakarta. Too hard to pass it.
I like its design. Especially this.
I like both dress-up and casual clothes just like those two above. Sometimes I feel like I’m over dressed, but I love to dress up while I love to dress down as much. It helps create the mood of the day.
These are for now. I hope you liked what I had on!
