Ballet Recital et al. バレエの発表会

May 18, 2011

The end of the year ballet recital was held last Sunday evening. My older daughter who reluctantly went to ballet practices in the second half of the year was in it. For 3 minutes on the stage, I was at the theater for 3 hours. So much for 3-minute performance, isn’t it? It was worth though. I put some make-up on my first daughter prior to going, just enough to make her look dressed up. However, after I left my daughter in the dressing room, the instructor apparently applied more make-up on her. My daughter’s group was the second to come out. The children in cute blue tutus came on the stage. There she was on the stage. So I thought. Nevertheless, I couldn’t find her because of the make-up. I spent a good half of the performance looking for her and I reached over to my purse to look for my glasses. Meanwhile I was snapping away with one of my hands, facing the camera in the direction my husband told me that our daughter was dancing. I was barely juggling. I finally recognized my daughter after putting on my glasses and by then it was already towards the end of the performance. She looked serious and adorable. Everyone on the stage did.

I’m familiar with this disorientation in my life. Lately I have had so much on my plate that I barely manage to do all that I am supposed to do. I am afraid that I’m missing out on something that I need to focus on while trying to balance everything: family, work out, blog, house-hold tasks, kid’s school activities, my activities, celebrations, etc. I’m ready for the school year to be over and go on vacation.

One thing that has been in my mind, but I have not been able to get to is to go visit the bloggers who have left me comments. It means a lot to have visitors to my blog and receive comments, so I would like to reciprocate. I’m sorry for slacking off on that part and I promise that I will come visit you!!

Thank you for coming to visit my blog.

It was worth it to your daughter I’m sure to be able to wear a little makeup for this special night! She is so cute!

Awww, she looks adorable. how exciting, I can’t wait for Beli to get to that stage. She already says she is a ballerina (when she wears blouses that have ruffles on the bottom, she likes to twirl around and say, ” I’m a ballerina”)

In a way it’s good that you are busy from the perspective that you are not thinking about being homesick. (at least that’s how I felt) but I can see that it can be overwhelming with all that you are doing. Enjoy the moments with your daughters. and your hubby, the most important people in your life.

(ps. I now have two job offers…yay!one is part-time but a temp job then other if full time. so the decision will be very easy to make, especially with this economy)

I’ve totally been missing your comments on my blog Kaho, but I totally understand. Being sick I barely have energy to read and comment and now I am making an effort to do so. I’m sorry for slacking off too!

You’re daughter looks so adorable! I guess they have to exaggerate the makeup on stage so that it’s visible from afar. But I know what you mean… your daughter is so lovely she totally doesn’t need it! =)
