Monday Mode ☆ Alun Alun Indonesia

June 12, 2011

Have you heard of an Indonesian brand “Alun Alun“? Our good friends brought get-well presents from ALUN ALUN to my second daughter before her visit to Singapore to see a specialist for the ganglion under her jaw. She received an adorable dress as well as a cute stuff toy. I haven’t had a chance to take photos of the stuff toy, but I will take photos of it sometime in the future.

Alun Alun means town square. You can read about the concept of Alun Alun here. It is very interesting and I highly recommend reading it.

I love the colorful and whimsical patch work fabric dress on my daughter. I love the design itself as well as the idea of the store to support the development and marketing of the Indonesian culture-based products. The mission of Alun Alun is to create “Panggung Indonesia”, which means Stage of Indonesia. “It is not only a place to showcase the products, but also the place for education and fun learning about Indonesia’s cultural heritage.”

I cannot wait to go visit the actual store in the future.
