Monday Mode ☆ Wedding Fashion

I was fortunate enough to attend my college friend, Chika’s wedding, which took place in Tokyo on June 18. I was really happy that the timing worked out well for our summer schedule as I have missed many of my friends’ weddings due to the timing and living far away from my friends.

My friend, Chika, had a traditional Japanese wedding at a shrine where she wore a white wedding kimono. Then at her wedding reception, she wore a wedding dress. She looked stunning. She’s very talented and has many skills. One of them is designing formal gowns. In fact, she designed her own wedding gown she wore at the reception. She also designed a pink dress made with kimono fabric that our mutual friend wore at the wedding reception. (She and I are in a photo together.) I would’ve loved to take pictures of every woman’s dress at the wedding, but I simply did not have the time. Here is a glimpse of fashion I saw at my friend’s wedding. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Everlasting happiness and best wishes to my dear friend, Chika and her husband, Manabu!

What beautiful outfits! You look great and your friend’s wedding dress is stunning in that last picture!

beautiful! i love the little wedding hat. Such hat fashion is usually something that I only see the British elite wearing. So, it’s definitely a refreshing sight to see Asians loving this trend too. Then again, I foresee that we wouldn’t be seeing much of this sight in Singapore :p LOL.

Hi Kaho, long time no see! This is Makiko (in the Basque country now). I always enjoy reading your blog and very impressed by your constantly producing high-quality articles! And now, thanks a lot for sharing the fotos of Chika at her wedding. I am the one this time who missed the event for bad timing and being far away, what a pity!

You took such lovely photos Kaho! I bet they wished you were the wedding photog! (just kidding!) Thanks for sharing. It’s so interesting to see other cultures. I did not realize that there is a white wedding kimono. Is that hat traditional as well? I would love to hear more about Japanese weddings as this is the first time I am hearing about it. Btw I love her fascinator in the reception too!

Lovely Thoughts
