nobu Hair Salon at Dharmawangsa Square City Walk, Jakarta

October 7, 2012

I permed my hair exactly two years ago. Here’s the post from two years ago.

It is so much easier for me to have wavy hair and style it with moose with three kids in tow and I wash my hair in the morning after work out. I have no time to blow dry my hair.

I had wanted to get my hair permed again for a quite a while, but I haven’t been able to partly because the Japanese hair dresser who permed my hair two years ago had left Jakarta in the middle of the last year. I thought about trying a new hair dresser, but then I found out that I was pregnant. After giving birth to my third child, I have been exclusively nursing which has not allowed me to have a good chunk of time to sit in a hair salon. However, my son started solid food since last month, so I finally went to get my hair permed.

I went to nobu, a Japanese hair salon, at the Dharmawangsa Square City Walk. I showed the photos of my haircut two years ago just like in my blog post to a Japanese hair stylist, Eki, and she did it. She’s well experienced and good at what she does. I like her style, too. I had gone to Shunji Matsuo, which is a Japanese hair salon also located on the same floor of the Dharmawangsa Square City Walk. Miyuki, the stylist who cut my hair, was wonderful and I liked her a lot. I also recommend Shunji Matsuo and I have had great experiences. However, I decided to try nobu this time since it was much less expensive to get my hair permed at nobu. As simple as that.

The salon nobu made me a membership card (very Japanese) which was given to me for free and I received 10% discount for hair cut and perm. The 10% discount with the membership card for nobu applies every time I go there. The hair cut price was IDR 400.000, but with 10% discount, it became IDR 360.000. The perm was IDR 700.000 and with the discount, it was IDR 630.000. I can only say good things about nobu and Eki san. Thank you!!

As I have written in the previous post, I might take a big break for 4 weeks from now until I am done with e-course, Blogging Your Way. We shall see…

    Hi Kahori!
Thanks for the sweet comment, but we already met a while ago in Blog land, I just was so busy that I hardly left comments but since I’m a follower of your blog I read along with most of your stories, glad we have met again!
And my daughters both have curly hair, the oldest wants it straight, and you want a curl in it, hahaha, it is always like that right?

great hair :) funny, for one moment I thought you were talkinfg about nobu the restaurant – my favourite! I like to wave my hair too but a bit petrified of perms in case it goes wrong :) lovely to meet you x

Ahaha, that’s funny! Nobu is an expensive restaurant! I’ve only been to Nobu once in Dallas, Texas. Unless you know that whoever perms your hair is really good, it’s kind of scary, isn’t it? I love my hair now though. It’s so much easier to style it.

Hi! Great hair! Was this a digital perm? :)

  14. April 13, 2013 7:58 am

Thanks, Kichi! I wish, but no, it was a regular perm. I went for a cheaper option which was regular. :)
