Meet the Makers 2012 ☆ Craft Show at KOI Kemang

November 1, 2012

One of the great things about living in Jakarta is that there are many local craft shows and bazaars promoting local artisans and their businesses. I find them quite fascinating and the items sold at markets are beautiful.

From November 1 to 3, 2012, Meet the Makers, a bi-annual Indonesian craft show is held at the Gallery on the 3rd floor of KOI Kemang. If you are reading this on the day when it’s published which is November 2, you can still make it!

I hope these photos will inspire you to make efforts to go out there because it is really worth seeing. When I was there, there was even live music to listen along while shopping. The music was upbeat and jazzy in someway and reminded me of latin music. I’d like to find out the name of this band.

you might be listening to a Keroncong music, a traditional Portuguese-Indonesian music.

Kwahju, thanks for letting me know!! That’s really cool. I have never heard about Keroncong music till you mentioned. It did sound like the music that had Latin influence when I heard. The look of the musician already tells something about the music, too. Cool, isn’t it? :) It was really beautiful and I would love to listen to their music again.
