Monday Mode ☆ Indonesia Fashion Week 2013 ☆ Ivan Gunawan

February 17, 2013

Jakarta Fashion Week 201349

I am sorry for abandoning my Monday Mode for a while. It’s not always easy for me to take photos of my kids or myself posing for a fashion post. I need to find a magic potion to motivate myself.

Anyways, I had a rare chance to go to an Indonesian Fashion Week 2013 show thanks to my friend, Gladys. Thank you!

I would like to share with you what I saw at the Indonesian Fashion Week 2013 last week.

As you probably know, I love fashion. I have only been to a fashion show a handful of times and all of them are in Jakarta. I loved every single one of them. The first show I went was Bazaar’s Fashion Concerto 2010.

Arrived at the Jakarta Convention Center, the venue for the Indonesia Fashion Week 2013, guests were greeted with the dresses displayed at the front.

Before Ivan Gunawan’s show, the one I had a ticket for, started, there were several designers’ shows. Here are some snippets of the shows before Ivan Gunawan’s Malolo collection was revealed.

The show I was invited to see was a collection by Ivan Gunawan, a fashion designer and celebrity in Indonesia.

The designer Ivan Gunawan was being interviewed in the hallway.

The show ended and I walked out of the main entrance to the building of the Jakarta Convention Center. There I spotted a Miss Indonesia. You can’t miss her huge tiara. She was petite, beautiful and elegant. She kept her smile at all times and seemed very friendly. I did not take a photo with her, but to be able to see her and take her photos were kind of icing to a cake to me.

I hope you enjoyed viewing some photos I’ve taken at the Indonesia Fashion Week 2013!

Too bad I did’t know about this event, I love fashion shows! Great pictures and great designs!

You might have an opportunity in the future! Thanks for leaving me a comment!!

I’m so envious! I wish I were there. Must have been thrilling to take photos.

Lovely dresses and lovely photos. :)

Thanks for the comment! I think you could’ve totally gone on a runway! I wish you were there, too, because I’m pretty sure your photos would’ve been much better than mine.

Oh I would love to go to a fashion show, never been, but that would really be something that I would like to do once! Looks great :)

You look a bit like Ms. Indonesia! I thought it was you in the pictures.

If you keep wishing, I’d like to believe that it’ll happen! Thanks for visiting!!

Seriously? That’s a compliment that I have never received! Thank you!! She was half my size though….

Looks like you had a lot of fun. London Fashion week has just ended, but sadly I did not get to see any shows :o(. One day! I love the look of the burnt orange dress. Also canary yellow is very this season – certainly over in UK/US.

I liked it, too! I got lucky this time. Getting invitations to a show like this is one of the perks of living in a city with a relatively small expat community.

Oh how I wish they would allow short, plump ladies on the catwalk so I could give it a go. LOL. And hey, your photos are excellent. Photographing runway shows is not really a strength of mine. :(

I think you look skinny and tall to me in the photo I saw. Thanks for the compliment! I think it was a dumb luck if I have any good shots, but I think many of them look grainy or blurry… I appreciate your encouraging words!

Years of taking self portraits have made me really talented in knowing my good angles and making myself look tall(ish). Haha!

I’ve been steadily gaining weight since moving here. Can’t help it. The food is too good. This needs to be changed. :D

You’ve got mad skill, Wander Woman! I think you really are slender. I would like to learn your skill. :D I agree that the food is good.

Lovely Thoughts
