Friday Finds ☆ Le Pain Quotidien in BKC ☆ Mumbai

Le Pain Quotidien-12

Yes, I am talking about Le Pain Quotidien. In Mumbai, India! Le Pain Quotidien is a well-known restaurant, but did you know that there is one in Mumbai? We are familiar with Le Pain Quotidien in other cities, so we were excited when we learned that Le Pain Quotidien was in Mumbai. There is nothing like seeing some familiar places sometimes when living in a foreign country. Believe it or not, it is one of our favorite places to eat out in Mumbai. Le Pain Quotidien is located in BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex), a new planned commercial district in Bandra East, North Mumbai. When you enter BKC road, it feels like you are in a different city. The roads are wider and nicer. There are many constructions going on and you can tell that the area is booming.

Le Pain Quotidien is inside a business complex near the Kalanagar Flyover exit.

Le Pain Quotidien

Le Pain Quotidien I know.

This is in Mumbai.

We go there quite often as we don’t know the city much yet and we don’t have a car. Yet. We find ourselves going back to Le Pain Quotidien for other reasons as well. They are consistent. Back home, we wouldn’t eat at Le Pain Quotidien as much. We like it because the quality of food they serve is consistently good. The service is friendly and fast. We can almost guarantee that what we order comes out as we expected. The space is well decorated and has a lot of natural light. The high ceiling with big windows make it feel relaxing. It’s kid friendly. What else do we need?

I think their pastas are really good. My girls loved them.

I like their breakfast menu. I ordered Le Pain Quotidien Breakfast set and it came with a pain au chocolat, fruit cup and latte, tea or hot chocolate at the end. Delightful!

One thing to keep in mind is that making a reservation for brunch on weekends is recommended. We went there on one weekend morning for brunch, I believe it was Sunday morning, without making a reservation and we could not get in. We are still Mumbai newbies.

My interior design like at Le Pain Quotidien in BKC is the rustic antique looking window screens as wall decor. It’s a neat idea, isn’t it? I like the silver lamps as well.

I usually buy bread and pastries when I go there. We like their loaves and my children love pain au chocolat!

I’m glad to hear that because I started feel that I am not as adventurous as I should be!

My favorite part about this place is that its as close to a parisian cafe as we are going to get in mumbai. Once you enter, you feel this strange serenity set upon you. So I’ve been having a few meetings at this place so have got a chance to sample their food (normally never travelled to BKC to eat somehow) and realized I’ve been missing out on a lot! Normally start off with their green tea. Whatever your choice of beverage, make sure you ask for some of their biscotti – absolutely delicious! (Zomato, the menu needs updating, they have a lot more food on it now. Cheers! ) Their mushroom risotto was average the first time I had it but their basil chicken with pesto sauce and mushroom risotto was MINDBLOWING. Generous slices of chicken covering a mound of risotto, surrounded by a moat of creamy basil pesto. Won me over! Unfortunately haven’t tried much else, but i do know they have a sunday brunch option with unlimited alcohol. Either way, its worth a visit. Will post more once iv tried the rest of the menu Btw, the place is pricey. Each main dish is between 400-500, the teas and coffee are 100-200 etc. Still kinda worth the money, especially since they NEVER hassle you to leave. Perfect place for a long reading session, meetings, a romantic meal or just catching up with old friends.
